Next Generation Science - NGSS Resources

The Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) have been adopted in California as the new science standards in September 2013.
Based on the new vision for science education described in the Framework for K-12 Science Education by the National Research Council (NRC 2011), the NGSS build upon our best knowledge of how students learn science and identify a coherent set of disciplinary core ideas, crosscutting concepts and science and engineering practices that all students should have mastered by the end of 12th grade.

Currently, the California Science Project is the lead writer of the California Instructional Framework for Science.

Here, are the recommended resources to start your pathway towards NGSS implementation.
We are interested in any feedback that you may have regarding the use and effectiveness of these resources. Send feedback to maria.simani@ucr.edu.
